Traveling Construction Superintendent
Travelling Construction Superintendent
An experienced Travelling Construction Superintendent is required to lead and coordinate construction activities across multiple project locations. This role will suit a confident construction professional who can manage site operations, maintain high standards of workmanship and safety, and build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
You will take ownership of day-to-day site delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget. Regular travel and temporary assignment to different sites will be required, so flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily construction activities from mobilisation through to completion.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, site personnel and specialist trades.
- Review drawings, specifications, programmes and method statements to ensure accurate delivery.
- Monitor progress, productivity, quality and compliance with agreed project requirements.
- Lead site meetings and provide clear progress updates to project management and stakeholders.
- Identify construction risks, resolve issues promptly and support effective change management.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, inspections, permits and documentation.
- Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across every project.
- Work closely with commercial and engineering teams to control costs and minimise delays.
- Support commissioning, snagging, handover and close-out activities.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally within commercial, industrial, civil engineering or related sectors. A recognised construction, engineering or trade qualification is desirable, together with a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and site controls.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, with the confidence to make sound decisions under pressure. You must be willing to travel regularly, work away from home when required and operate effectively in a range of project environments.
Relevant site safety training and a valid driving licence are expected. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for varied projects while working with experienced professionals in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
