Deputy Project Manager – Energy Siting & Permitting (Remote/Hybrid)
We are seeking a Deputy Project Manager – Energy Siting & Permitting to support the delivery of renewable energy and infrastructure projects from early-stage development through to approval and construction readiness. This remote/hybrid role will contribute to the planning, coordination and execution of complex siting and permitting activities across multiple jurisdictions, helping projects progress efficiently while meeting regulatory, environmental and community requirements.
Key responsibilities include supporting project schedules, budgets, risk registers and permitting strategies; coordinating consultants, engineers, environmental specialists, legal advisers, landowners and public agencies; and tracking deliverables to ensure milestones are achieved. You will assist with site due diligence, land-use and zoning reviews, environmental assessments, agency consultations, permit applications and responses to regulatory comments. You may represent project teams in stakeholder meetings, public hearings and community engagement activities as required.
Applicants should have experience supporting project delivery in the energy, infrastructure, environmental or land-development sectors, with an understanding of permitting, planning or regulatory processes. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional teams and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience with renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery storage or transmission, is desirable. A degree or equivalent professional experience in project management, environmental planning, engineering, urban planning, public policy or a related discipline is preferred. Familiarity with project management tools, permitting databases and standard office software will be beneficial. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a remote/hybrid environment, with occasional travel for site visits, meetings or hearings.
