Project Manager (Energy & Permitting – Rockies Region) Remote/Hybrid
We are seeking a Project Manager to lead energy and permitting initiatives across the Rocky Mountain region in a remote or hybrid capacity. This role will oversee projects from early-stage planning through permitting, construction support, and closeout, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable regulatory and environmental requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and provide clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include developing project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution plans; coordinating environmental, engineering, land, regulatory, and construction consultants; and managing applications, approvals, agency communications, and permit conditions. You will track milestones, identify and resolve issues, maintain accurate project documentation, and prepare regular status reports for internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves supporting site assessments, public or community engagement, procurement activities, contract administration, and field coordination as needed. Occasional travel throughout the Rockies region may be required for site visits, meetings, and regulatory or community engagements.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in project management, environmental studies, engineering, energy, planning, or a related discipline, along with several years of experience managing energy, infrastructure, environmental, or permitting projects. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local permitting processes in the Rocky Mountain region is highly desirable. Experience working with utilities, renewable energy, oil and gas, transmission, or other complex infrastructure projects will be valued. The ideal candidate is organized, commercially aware, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and proficiency with project management and document-control tools are essential. Familiarity with project scheduling, budgeting, GIS, and regulatory tracking systems is an advantage.
