We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Permitting, to lead and coordinate permitting activities for complex projects from early planning through approval and delivery. The successful candidate will manage the permitting strategy, ensure applications are complete and submitted on schedule, and maintain clear communication with internal teams, consultants, regulators, local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders. This role requires strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a changing environment.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining comprehensive permitting plans, programmes, risk registers, and submission trackers; identifying applicable statutory, environmental, planning, land, and construction requirements; coordinating technical inputs and documentation from engineering, environmental, legal, commercial, and project delivery teams; and reviewing submissions for quality, consistency, and compliance. The role will also involve supporting stakeholder engagement, preparing progress reports, contributing to project meetings, and maintaining accurate records of approvals, conditions, correspondence, and decisions.

Applicants should have proven experience managing permits, consents, licences, or planning approvals for infrastructure, construction, energy, development, or similarly regulated projects. A strong understanding of relevant permitting processes, environmental and planning regulations, and stakeholder requirements is essential. You will be confident working with technical information, coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams, and presenting complex issues clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences. Excellent communication, negotiation, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proactive approach to identifying solutions. Experience with project management systems, document control, and regulatory engagement is desirable. A relevant degree or professional qualification is advantageous, although equivalent practical experience will be considered.
