Survey Project Manager - Land Development

We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager – Land Development to lead surveying projects from initial planning through to successful completion. This role will suit a technically capable professional with strong project management skills and a thorough understanding of land development, construction surveying and cadastral requirements. You will manage multiple projects across residential, commercial and infrastructure developments, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, safely and in line with agreed budgets and timelines.

Your responsibilities will include preparing scopes of work, fee proposals, project schedules and resource plans; coordinating field crews, surveyors, technicians, consultants, contractors and clients; and monitoring project progress from inception to final deliverables. You will review survey data, plans and reports for quality and technical accuracy, oversee set-out and detail surveys, and provide guidance on boundary definition, topographic surveys, earthworks, roads, services, subdivisions and construction verification. You will also identify project risks, resolve technical issues, manage variations and maintain clear documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful applicant will hold relevant qualifications in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering or a related discipline, together with substantial experience in land development surveying and project delivery. Registration or eligibility for professional registration will be highly regarded. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, surveying standards, development processes and industry software is expected, along with confidence interpreting engineering and architectural plans. Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to build productive relationships with clients and project stakeholders. You will be comfortable working independently while supporting and mentoring team members, prioritising competing deadlines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy and service. A current driver’s licence and the flexibility to attend project sites as required are also necessary.
