We are seeking a Water Resources Engineering Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and delivery of water, wastewater, stormwater, and flood management projects in the Tampa, Florida area. This role will manage projects from initial scope development through final design, permitting, construction support, and closeout. You will work closely with clients, public agencies, contractors, technical specialists, and internal stakeholders to deliver practical, resilient, and cost-effective solutions that meet regulatory and community needs.
Responsibilities will include preparing scopes of work, fee proposals, schedules, budgets, and project plans; directing multidisciplinary teams; reviewing technical studies, calculations, models, drawings, specifications, and reports; and monitoring project performance against approved cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives. You will support business development by maintaining client relationships, identifying opportunities, participating in interviews, and contributing to proposals. The position will also involve coordinating regulatory approvals, assisting with public meetings, evaluating design alternatives, managing subcontractors, and providing technical guidance during construction and field activities.
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering and professional experience managing water resources or municipal infrastructure projects. Professional Engineer registration, or the ability to obtain Florida licensure within an appropriate timeframe, is required or strongly preferred. Experience with drainage design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, stormwater management, floodplain analysis, water or wastewater systems, and relevant permitting processes will be highly valued. Familiarity with design and project management software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, or comparable tools, is advantageous. Strong communication, leadership, organisation, problem-solving, and client management skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and occasional travel or site visits.
