An experienced EHS Advisor is required to support the development and implementation of effective environmental, health and safety standards across operational sites and projects. This role will work closely with managers, supervisors, contractors and employees to promote a proactive safety culture, ensure legal compliance and reduce workplace risks. The successful candidate will provide practical advice, challenge unsafe practices and help embed continuous improvement across all areas of the business.

Key responsibilities will include conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, audits and investigations; monitoring compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation; and supporting the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. You will assist with incident reporting and root-cause analysis, prepare clear reports and performance metrics, and contribute to emergency response planning. The role will also involve delivering inductions, toolbox talks and targeted training, maintaining accurate records, reviewing method statements and permits, and supporting the management of contractor activities. You will work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure appropriate control measures are in place for activities such as manual handling, hazardous substances, work at height, equipment use and environmental management.

Applicants should hold a recognised qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in an EHS advisory or similar role. A strong understanding of applicable legislation, risk management principles, incident investigation and audit processes is essential. Professional membership or working towards membership of a recognised safety body would be advantageous. You will need excellent communication and influencing skills, sound judgement and the confidence to engage with people at all levels. The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and produce accurate documentation is also important. A practical, visible and solutions-focused approach will be key to succeeding in this role.
