We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support the successful planning, monitoring and delivery of complex projects. This role will provide expert project controls leadership across the full project lifecycle, ensuring that scope, schedule, cost, risk and performance information is accurate, timely and clearly communicated. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineering teams, commercial colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders to promote effective governance and informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, establishing progress measurement systems, and monitoring performance against approved baselines. You will prepare cost forecasts, budget updates, earned value analyses, trend reports and variance explanations, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions. The role will also involve supporting change control, risk and opportunity management, estimating, resource planning and periodic reporting. You will review contractor and supplier submissions, validate progress data, contribute to project reviews, and ensure that project controls processes, procedures and documentation are consistently applied.
Applicants should have substantial experience in project controls, planning, cost management or a related discipline, ideally gained within a complex engineering, construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of scheduling and cost-control principles, forecasting techniques, change management and risk analysis is essential. Experience with project controls software and reporting tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel or comparable systems, is expected. A relevant degree or professional qualification is desirable. You will need excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to challenge constructively, manage competing priorities and explain complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences. A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality reporting are essential for success in this position.
