We are seeking an experienced Traveling General Superintendent to oversee complex aviation construction and refurbishment projects across multiple locations. This senior leadership role will be responsible for directing site operations from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Extensive travel will be required, with assignments potentially taking place at airports, hangars, terminals and other operational aviation facilities.
Key responsibilities will include managing site superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades; coordinating daily construction activities; reviewing drawings, specifications and project schedules; and ensuring that work is properly sequenced and resourced. You will monitor progress, identify risks and resolve technical or logistical issues before they affect delivery. The role will also involve coordinating with clients, consultants, project managers, engineers and airport stakeholders, while maintaining clear records, progress reports and site documentation. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, including enforcing site procedures, supporting inspections and promoting a positive safety culture in live or highly regulated environments.
Applicants should have substantial experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial or aviation construction projects, ideally in a general superintendent or senior site management capacity. A sound understanding of construction methods, contract administration, quality control and project scheduling is required, together with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Experience working within active airport environments, around restricted areas or alongside operational facilities would be advantageous. You will need excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, confidence managing multiple teams and locations, and the flexibility to travel extensively. Relevant construction, engineering or safety qualifications, as well as a recognised site safety certification, are desirable. The successful candidate will be organised, decisive and committed to delivering high standards while building effective working relationships with all project stakeholders.
