An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will manage projects from initial planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Working with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams, you will provide clear leadership and maintain effective communication throughout each project lifecycle. The role will involve overseeing multiple workstreams, managing commercial performance and ensuring that all activities meet required technical, environmental and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of water and wastewater projects.
- Develop and maintain programmes, budgets, risk registers and project documentation.
- Manage project teams, contractors, consultants and supply-chain partners.
- Monitor progress, quality, costs and performance against agreed objectives.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, changes and opportunities throughout delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Prepare regular progress reports and provide updates to senior stakeholders and clients.
- Support procurement, contract administration, commissioning and project close-out.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience managing projects within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or wider infrastructure sector. A strong understanding of project management principles, construction processes, commercial controls and relevant industry regulations is essential.
You should be confident managing budgets, programmes and competing priorities, with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. The ability to build effective relationships, resolve problems pragmatically and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment is important.
A recognised project management or engineering qualification, such as APM, PRINCE2 or a relevant degree, would be advantageous. Experience with NEC contracts, regulated utilities or complex infrastructure programmes would also be beneficial. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to important projects that support resilient, sustainable water and wastewater services.
