Civil Inspector- Tunnel (Saudi National)

We are seeking a Saudi National Civil Inspector – Tunnel to support the delivery of major underground infrastructure and tunnelling works. The successful candidate will monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, inspection and test plans, and applicable local and international standards. This role will involve working across tunnel construction sites, coordinating with contractors and supervision teams, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities include inspecting civil and structural works such as tunnel linings, portals, shafts, cross passages, invert slabs, drainage systems, waterproofing, concrete placement, reinforcement, formwork, grouting, backfilling, and associated temporary works. You will review material approvals, verify setting-out and dimensions, witness testing, record site observations, and ensure that non-conforming work is identified, documented, and rectified. The role also requires reviewing inspection requests, maintaining daily reports and quality records, monitoring progress against approved programmes, and supporting the resolution of technical issues. Regular coordination with engineers, surveyors, safety personnel, subcontractors, and client representatives will be required.

Applicants should hold a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline, with relevant experience in tunnel construction, underground works, or major infrastructure projects. Practical knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, waterproofing, ground support systems, excavation methods, and quality control procedures is essential. Candidates should be able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, use inspection and reporting systems, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders. Familiarity with tunnelling standards, health and safety requirements, and quality management systems will be advantageous. The successful candidate must be organised, detail-oriented, physically able to work in active site environments, and committed to maintaining high professional standards.
