Assistant Project Manager (Ground Up)

An exciting opportunity is available for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of ground-up construction projects from inception through to completion. This role would suit a motivated construction professional with strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in developing a long-term career in project management.

Working closely with the Project Manager, consultants, contractors and wider project team, you will help coordinate activities across the full project lifecycle. You will contribute to maintaining programme, quality, cost and health and safety standards while ensuring that project information is accurately recorded and communicated.

Key responsibilities Assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of ground-up construction projects. Support the preparation and monitoring of project programmes, budgets, procurement schedules and progress reports. Coordinate design information, technical submissions, approvals and document control. Attend site meetings, progress meetings and inspections, recording actions and following up outstanding matters. Monitor construction progress, workmanship and compliance with specifications, drawings and relevant regulations. Assist with the management of consultants, subcontractors and suppliers. Help identify and manage risks, variations, delays and potential project issues. Maintain accurate project records, including reports, meeting minutes, trackers and correspondence. Promote high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental performance across the project. About you

You should be confident working with project documentation, spreadsheets and common construction software, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as is the confidence to work collaboratively with both site-based and office-based teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad project exposure, take on increasing responsibility and progress within a supportive, delivery-focused environment.

Assistant Project Manager (Ground Up)

We are seeking an ambitious and organised Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of a major ground-up construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional to develop their project management career while working closely with experienced delivery, design and commercial teams.

Assisting with the planning and coordination of the project from pre-construction through to completion, you will help ensure that works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and in line with the required quality standards. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced site environment and able to build effective relationships with internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities. Assist with programme development, progress monitoring and the identification of potential delays or risks. Coordinate design information, technical queries, approvals and changes between relevant project stakeholders. Attend site meetings, prepare updates and maintain accurate project records and documentation. Work with commercial colleagues to monitor costs, variations, procurement and subcontractor performance. Help ensure that health and safety, environmental and quality requirements are consistently maintained. Assist with the preparation of reports, progress reviews, handover documentation and close-out activities. Support the resolution of site issues, escalating matters appropriately where required. About you

You will have experience in an assistant project management, site management or construction coordination role, ideally on a new-build or ground-up development. A relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification is desirable, together with a sound understanding of construction processes, health and safety and project controls.

Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential. You should be proactive, commercially aware and confident using standard project management and reporting systems. In return, you will receive the opportunity to work on a high-profile project, broaden your technical and management experience, and progress within a supportive professional environment.
