We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the successful delivery of wind farm construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wind energy construction (ideally), excellent site management skills, and proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Location: South Africa
Contract: Freelance/Self-employed
Work Arrangement: 100% On-site
Start date: January 2027
Duration: 18 months
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily construction activities on wind farm sites.Coordinate civil works, electrical installations, turbine erection and associated construction activities.Supervise contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety and project deadlines are met.Monitor construction schedules, project milestones and resource allocation.Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, quality standards and project specifications.Liaise with project managers, engineering teams, clients and other key stakeholders.Identify and resolve construction-related challenges to minimise delays.Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Site Manager within the wind energy sector.Strong understanding of wind turbine installation and wind farm construction processes.Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams.Excellent knowledge of HSE procedures and construction quality standards.Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.Right to work in South AfricaValid SACPCMP registration as Professional Construction Managerewi is committed to equality in the workplace and is an equal opportunity employer. ewi is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
