Civil Analyst- Water Resources

We are seeking a Civil Analyst – Water Resources to support the planning, design and delivery of water-related infrastructure and civil engineering projects. This role will contribute to technical analysis, option assessments and the preparation of solutions that support the sustainable management of water resources, flood risk and drainage systems. You will work with engineers, project managers, environmental specialists and external stakeholders to help deliver high-quality outcomes safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards and legislation.

Key responsibilities will include undertaking hydrological and hydraulic analysis, reviewing survey and asset information, assisting with catchment, flood risk and stormwater investigations, and developing technical reports, calculations, drawings and supporting documentation. You will help assess existing infrastructure, identify risks and opportunities, contribute to feasibility studies and design development, and support the preparation of cost estimates, project schedules and business cases. The role may also involve interpreting technical data, using modelling and design software, attending site inspections, responding to technical queries and contributing to project meetings and stakeholder engagement activities.

Applicants should hold, or be working towards, a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water resources engineering, environmental engineering or a related discipline. Experience in water resources, drainage, flood risk management, civil infrastructure or a comparable technical environment is desirable. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex information clearly in written reports and presentations. Familiarity with hydrological or hydraulic modelling tools, CAD or GIS software, and relevant industry standards would be advantageous. A proactive approach, willingness to learn and the ability to manage competing priorities while working collaboratively are essential. The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional, safety and quality standards and may need to travel to project or site locations when required.
