Environmental Planning Analyst
We are seeking an Environmental Planning Analyst to support the assessment, delivery and monitoring of projects that interact with the natural and built environment. This role will contribute to evidence-based planning, environmental assessment and regulatory compliance across a varied portfolio of projects. You will review planning and environmental information, identify potential impacts and opportunities, and help develop practical recommendations that support sustainable outcomes.
Key responsibilities include preparing and coordinating environmental planning assessments, technical reports, briefing materials and consultation documents; researching relevant legislation, policies, planning instruments and approval requirements; and maintaining accurate records of project activities, risks, commitments and decisions. You will work with internal teams, consultants, government agencies, community representatives and other stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues and support timely approvals. The role will also involve analysing spatial, environmental and planning data, assisting with site investigations and audits, tracking mitigation measures, and contributing to continuous improvement of environmental management processes.
The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in environmental planning, environmental science, urban and regional planning, geography or a related discipline. Experience in environmental assessment, planning approvals, impact analysis, environmental compliance or project coordination will be highly regarded. You should have an understanding of relevant environmental and planning legislation, strong research and analytical skills, and the ability to interpret technical information and communicate it clearly to varied audiences. Proficiency with standard office and data-analysis tools is required; experience with geographic information systems or environmental reporting platforms is advantageous. We are looking for a collaborative and organised professional who can manage competing priorities, work confidently with limited supervision, demonstrate sound judgement and maintain a strong commitment to environmental responsibility, quality and integrity.
