Civil Design Engineer

Responsibilities:
* Assist in the production of project civil and structural drawings.
* Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL, and local permitting requirements)
* Help prepare and review Civil design, including grading and drainage details
* Help prepare and review Civil calculations for various reports (drainage, cut and fill, SWPP, erosion control, and Stormwater risk level)
* Help prepare and review Structural specifications, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost.
* Analyze loads (dead, live, wind, seismic) and design structural elements (beams, columns, slabs, foundations).
* Review and provide feedback/comments on vendor design and documentation.
* Provide field support, to include site visits to verify that work aligns with design specifications and safety standards.
* Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
* Support preconstruction/proposal activities, such as cost estimates, quantity takeoffs and manpower requirements for proposals, formats and change orders.
* Evaluate and recommend renewable energy technologies and innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes.
* Provide procurement support as needed
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the executive team.

Job Requirements:
* 4-year degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or similar degree.
* 2-4 years of experience in the electrical utility or renewable energy sector previous experience in construction activities preferred.
* Knowledge of civil/structural design and engineering techniques, preferably in solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substation engineering.
* Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, Adobe programs experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, Procore, Revit, and PVSyst a plus.
* OSHA safety training is preferred.
* Occasional travel.
