Role Overview
The Site Manager will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and overseeing all on‑site construction, installation, and commissioning activities for hydropower projects. Candidates will initially support projects in either Washington state (John W. Keys automation project) or Oklahoma (RS Kerr Dam).
This position requires continuous on‑site presence during project execution, ensuring that installation, assembly, testing, and field operations are completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. The Site Manager serves as the on‑site authority for labor management, safety compliance, schedule coordination, and customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Workforce Management
- Hire, supervise, and manage site labor and subcontractors.
- Oversee labor hours, site staffing, and productivity for the assigned project.
- Manage on‑site supervision teams and coordinate daily activities.
Cost, Schedule & Logistics
- Manage site‑related costs, inventories, and progress tracking.
- Maintain and update project schedules; provide regular feedback to Project Managers and schedulers.
- Oversee adherence to customer and company requirements at the work site.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Lead health, safety, and environmental management on site.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and maintain site logs using company tools and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, quality plans, and construction practices.
- Identify and resolve non‑conformances; manage inspections, testing, and documentation.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary on‑site contact for the customer.
- Maintain strong client relationships and manage expectations throughout the project.
- Support claims, change orders, and documentation of site conditions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Provide regular status updates to in‑office Project Managers.
- Report issues requiring escalation or resolution.
- Complete periodic reporting, punch‑list activities, and project‑completion documentation.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Technical Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of experience in turbine and generator field work.
- Experience with large, complex construction projects.
- Strong background with steel structures, welding, and masonry.
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, QA/QC practices, and general construction standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, technical procedures, and contract requirements.
- Familiarity with site‑management software such as LMS, QCS, and related tools.
- Experience with claims management is an asset.
Certifications
- OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 Certification.
- Construction Quality Management certification (NAVFAC or USACE).
- Knowledge of OSHA and ISO standards is required.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
- Effective communicator with the ability to maintain professional client relationships.
- Results‑oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in fast‑paced environments.
- Willingness to travel and stay at remote project locations for extended periods.
- Availability to work overtime as needed.
