Traveling Senior Superintendent - Corrections
Travelling Senior Superintendent – Corrections
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced construction professional to lead major correctional and secure-facility projects across multiple locations. This travelling role will suit a confident senior site leader with a strong background in complex construction, refurbishment or infrastructure delivery, and the ability to manage projects from mobilisation through to completion.
As Senior Superintendent, you will take overall responsibility for site operations, ensuring that work is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. You will provide visible leadership to project teams, subcontractors and site personnel, while maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day construction activities across secure, occupied or highly regulated environments.
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
- Review programmes, monitor progress and implement recovery plans where required.
- Maintain rigorous health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
- Interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation, resolving issues promptly.
- Manage inspections, testing, commissioning, handover and close-out activities.
- Prepare reports, progress updates and construction documentation for project leadership.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, authorities and project consultants.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising large-scale construction projects, ideally within corrections, justice, healthcare, defence, institutional or similarly complex environments. A recognised trade, technical or construction qualification is desirable, alongside strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, safety legislation and quality control.
You should be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable making informed decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience working in live, secure or operational facilities would be advantageous.
This position requires extensive travel and flexibility to work away from home for extended periods. In return, you will join a professional project environment offering challenging work, career development and the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant facilities.
