We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee the delivery of commercial hospitality construction projects across multiple locations. This is a site-based role suited to a confident construction professional who can lead teams, maintain high standards and ensure projects are completed safely, on programme and within budget.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams from mobilisation through to completion. You will be expected to represent the project professionally, resolve issues promptly and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders, including clients, consultants and local authorities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all site activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project schedules.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site personnel, deliveries and specialist trades to maintain efficient progress.
- Monitor workmanship, materials and installation standards, identifying and resolving defects or quality concerns.
- Lead site safety meetings and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, risk assessments and site procedures.
- Track programme milestones, report progress and support the project team with forecasting and recovery planning.
- Review plans, specifications and method statements, raising technical queries where required.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, inspection documentation and handover information.
- Support commissioning, snagging and practical completion activities to achieve a high-quality finished project.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising commercial construction projects, ideally within hotels, restaurants, resorts, leisure facilities or similarly complex environments. A strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing and building regulations is essential, along with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
The successful candidate will be organised, decisive and comfortable working away from home for extended periods. You should hold relevant site management qualifications, such as SSSTS or SMSTS, and a recognised site safety qualification. A valid driving licence and the flexibility to travel regularly are also required.
In return, this position offers the opportunity to work on varied hospitality projects with responsibility, autonomy and the scope to make a visible impact on project delivery.
