Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent
Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead the successful delivery of commercial building projects across multiple locations. This is a hands-on site leadership role for a confident construction professional who can manage teams, coordinate subcontractors and maintain high standards of safety, quality and programme performance.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of assigned construction sites, acting as the key point of contact for subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project stakeholders. Projects may vary in size and complexity, so the ability to adapt quickly, solve problems effectively and maintain momentum in a changing environment is essential.
- Plan, supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities from mobilisation through to completion.
- Review drawings, specifications and programmes, identifying potential issues before they affect delivery.
- Direct subcontractors and site teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Monitor progress, workmanship, materials and installation against approved plans and project schedules.
- Lead regular site meetings and provide clear updates on progress, risks, quality and resource requirements.
- Enforce site safety procedures, carry out inspections and promote a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging and handover activities.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and documentation in line with project requirements.
About You
You will have substantial experience as a commercial construction superintendent, site manager or similar senior site-based role. A proven track record delivering projects such as retail, office, hospitality, industrial or mixed-use developments is highly desirable. You should be comfortable reading technical drawings, using construction management software and working collaboratively with project managers and clients.
Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills are essential, together with sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety regulations and quality control procedures. The role requires extensive travel and the flexibility to work away from home for extended periods. A valid driving licence and relevant construction qualifications are required; additional industry certifications will be advantageous.
In return, you will receive competitive remuneration, opportunities to work on varied projects and the chance to progress within a professional, delivery-focused environment.
