Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Hospitality
We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of high-value hospitality developments and refurbishment programmes. This role will suit an experienced cost professional with a strong background in hotels, resorts, restaurants, leisure, or other complex construction environments. You will provide commercial leadership across projects from feasibility and concept design through procurement, construction, completion, and final account settlement.
Key responsibilities will include preparing cost plans, budgets, estimates, and cash-flow forecasts; monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities for value engineering; reviewing design development and assessing cost implications; and advising project stakeholders on commercial risks and opportunities. You will lead procurement activities, recommend appropriate contracting and tendering strategies, manage tender documentation and evaluations, and support contract negotiations. During delivery, you will administer change control, assess variations and claims, review interim applications, manage payment processes, monitor progress against budget, and produce clear cost and commercial reports. You will also contribute to risk management, project governance, and the preparation of final accounts, while providing guidance and support to junior surveyors and wider project teams.
Applicants should have substantial experience in cost management or quantity surveying, ideally gained within hospitality, hotels, luxury residential, mixed-use, or similarly design-led developments. A relevant degree or professional qualification in quantity surveying, commercial management, construction, or a related discipline is preferred, together with professional membership or a clear commitment to achieving it. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement routes, measurement, estimating, cost reporting, and commercial controls is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills are required, along with confidence working with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior decision-makers. Experience using industry-standard cost management and reporting systems, combined with a proactive and collaborative approach, will be highly valued.
