Climate & Infrastructure Capital Associate Director
Climate & Infrastructure Capital Associate Director
An established investment platform is seeking a Climate & Infrastructure Capital Associate Director to support the origination, evaluation and execution of investments across climate, energy transition and essential infrastructure markets. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced investment professional who can combine rigorous financial analysis with strong commercial judgement and a genuine interest in delivering measurable environmental and societal outcomes.
The successful candidate will work across the full investment lifecycle, from identifying attractive opportunities and developing relationships with sponsors, management teams and advisers through to due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio oversight. You will help shape investment theses, assess risk and return, and contribute to the development of a growing climate and infrastructure investment strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Originate and assess investment opportunities across renewable energy, sustainable transport, digital infrastructure, resource efficiency and related sectors.
- Build and review detailed financial models, valuation analyses, investment cases and scenario assessments.
- Lead or coordinate commercial, financial, technical, legal and ESG due diligence processes.
- Prepare high-quality investment committee papers, presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external advisers, co-investors, lenders, developers, founders and portfolio company executives.
- Monitor portfolio performance, support value creation initiatives and identify follow-on investment opportunities.
- Contribute to market research, sector strategy and the development of climate impact measurement frameworks.
- Provide guidance to junior team members and promote consistent investment and risk management standards.
Skills and experience
You will ideally have significant experience in infrastructure, private equity, project finance, investment banking, corporate finance or a closely related field. A strong understanding of climate technologies, energy markets, infrastructure assets and relevant policy or regulatory developments is highly desirable.
You should demonstrate excellent financial modelling, analytical and written communication skills, alongside the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and manage multiple priorities. A pragmatic, collaborative approach is essential, as is the ability to form balanced judgements in complex and evolving markets. A relevant degree and professional or postgraduate qualification would be advantageous.
