The Commercial Director will lead the company's commercial strategy and oversee all financial and contractual aspects of project delivery. The role will ensure the profitability of construction projects through effective contract negotiation, commercial risk management, cost control, and procurement strategy.
This position will play a key role in strengthening the company's tendering and bidding capabilities, while supporting the organisation's expansion into large infrastructure and government projects across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, providing commercial leadership across multiple projects while ensuring strong financial performance and contractual governance.
Location: The role is ideally based in Kuwait. However, candidates based in Riyadh may also be considered, provided they are willing to travel regularly and work closely with the leadership team.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial StrategyDevelop and implement the company's commercial strategy and governance framework.
Provide commercial leadership across project portfolios to ensure profitability and risk mitigation.
Support the company's strategic expansion into Saudi Arabia and wider GCC markets.
Tendering & BiddingLead the commercial evaluation of project tenders and proposals.
Develop competitive pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and project risk profiles.
Oversee bid preparation, commercial modelling, and risk assessments.
Contract ManagementLead negotiation and administration of EPC and construction contracts.
Ensure full compliance with contractual obligations and project delivery frameworks.
Provide guidance on contract interpretation and commercial governance.
Cost & Financial ControlMonitor project financial performance and commercial reporting.
Ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while protecting target profit margins.
Implement cost control processes and financial oversight across multiple projects.
Claims & DisputesLead the resolution of contractual claims, variations, and disputes.
Protect the company from commercial and contractual risk exposure.
Manage negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Procurement & Supply ChainDevelop procurement strategies to support project delivery and cost optimisation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure procurement processes align with project schedules and commercial objectives.

Ideal Candidate ProfileDegree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
15+ years' experience in commercial leadership within construction or EPC environments.
Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure and government tenders.
Strong expertise in FIDIC contracts and international construction contracting frameworks.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate at executive level.
