Accounting & Financial Control Administrator - Renewable Energy (EPC Projects)

Location: Eschborn, Germany

Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid available)

Sector: Renewable Energy / Infrastructure / EPC

A leading renewable energy developer is seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Control Administrator to support the financial management of both company-level operations and large-scale EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects across Europe and Africa. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment focused on delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Project Financial Oversight

Manage financial control for energy and infrastructure projects, including cost tracking and budget monitoring

Evaluate the financial aspects of proposals, tenders, and investment decisions

Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets, timelines, and contractual terms

Analyse project and portfolio-level financial performance, identifying risks and variances

Assist with financial documentation for investors and donors as required

Accounting and Reporting

Maintain accurate accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and cash flow forecasts

Support internal audits and ensure compliance with project-related financial reporting requirements

Handle VAT filings, tax declarations, and regulatory reporting obligations

Cross-Functional and Administrative Support

Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to align financial processes with project delivery

Liaise with external auditors, accountants, banks, and public authorities

Assist with payroll and supplier contract tracking

Maintain audit-ready financial documentation and archives

Candidate Profile

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting and financial control, ideally within EPC, energy, or infrastructure sectors

Proven expertise in project-based accounting, budgeting, and financial forecasting

Strong understanding of German accounting standards, tax legislation, and compliance requirements

Proficient in Excel and accounting software (DATEV or equivalent required)

Fluency in both German and English is essential

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with IFRS reporting and cross-border financial compliance

Background working on donor-funded, PPP, or EPC infrastructure projects

High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities

Ability to communicate complex financial information across technical and commercial teams

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international project environment
