We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive tenders for a range of commercial plumbing and mechanical installation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-focused professional who understands the technical, commercial and programme requirements of building services work.
Working closely with contractors, suppliers, project managers and the pre-construction team, you will review tender documentation, assess project requirements and develop comprehensive cost plans. You will be responsible for ensuring estimates are commercially sound, technically compliant and submitted within strict deadlines.
Key responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documents to identify project requirements. Prepare detailed estimates and competitive quotations for commercial plumbing installations. Complete quantity take-offs and calculate labour, materials, plant, subcontractor and other project costs. Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring accurate comparisons and appropriate allowances. Identify risks, exclusions, qualifications and potential opportunities within tender submissions. Work with design and project teams to clarify technical information and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate estimating records and contribute to post-tender reviews and handovers. Monitor market conditions, material prices and construction trends to support reliable pricing. About youYou will have proven experience estimating commercial plumbing or building services projects, ideally within a main contracting, specialist subcontracting or construction environment. A strong understanding of plumbing systems, relevant regulations, construction methods and industry standards is essential.
You should be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, completing detailed take-offs and working with estimating software and Microsoft Office. Strong numerical, organisational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tender deadlines.
