Project Manager (Drilled Shafts & CFA Experience)
Project Manager – Drilled Shafts & CFA Experience
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to lead specialist piling and foundation projects involving drilled shafts and continuous flight auger (CFA) techniques. This role will suit a technically minded construction professional with a strong background in ground engineering, who can manage projects safely, efficiently and commercially from pre-start through to completion.
You will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned projects, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients. The position requires a confident leader who can balance operational demands with programme, quality and cost objectives, while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and environmental standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage drilled shaft and CFA piling projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Prepare and monitor programmes, budgets, progress reports and project documentation.
- Coordinate site operations, labour, plant, materials and specialist subcontractors.
- Review designs, construction methodologies, risk assessments and inspection and test plans.
- Work closely with clients, engineers and consultants to resolve technical and commercial matters.
- Monitor productivity, quality, costs and variations, taking corrective action where required.
- Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, specifications and company procedures.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Support the development of engineers, supervisors and wider project teams.
About you
You will have proven project management experience within piling, foundations, geotechnical engineering or heavy civil engineering, with practical knowledge of drilled shafts and CFA operations. A relevant construction, engineering or project management qualification is desirable, alongside a sound understanding of construction contracts, commercial controls and site-based delivery.
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential. You must be comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and building effective relationships with clients and delivery teams. A full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites are required.
In return, you will join a professional team delivering technically challenging projects, with opportunities for career development and long-term progression.
