This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills to contribute to essential infrastructure and environmental improvement schemes.
You will be responsible for managing projects safely, efficiently and within agreed budgets and timescales. Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants and internal teams, you will coordinate resources, monitor progress and ensure that all works meet contractual, regulatory and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle, including scope definition, procurement, delivery, commissioning and handover.
- Prepare and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers and delivery plans.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate contractors, consultants and operational stakeholders.
- Monitor project performance, costs, quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
- Identify, assess and manage risks, issues, variations and opportunities throughout delivery.
- Maintain clear project documentation and provide accurate progress reports to senior stakeholders.
- Support contract administration, commercial negotiations and change control processes.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, industry standards and client specifications.
About you
You will have proven experience managing water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering or other complex infrastructure projects. A sound understanding of construction delivery, commissioning and health and safety requirements is essential, together with experience of managing budgets, programmes and supply chain partners.
You should be confident communicating with people at all levels, from site-based teams and contractors to senior decision-makers. Strong organisation, commercial awareness and problem-solving abilities are required, along with a proactive approach to managing competing priorities.
A relevant degree or professional qualification in civil engineering, construction, project management or a related discipline is desirable. Membership of a recognised professional body, such as APM, ICE or an equivalent organisation, would also be advantageous.
What is offered
The successful candidate will join a supportive, professional environment with opportunities to work on varied and meaningful infrastructure projects. Ongoing development, career progression and a strong commitment to safety, quality and sustainability are provided.
