Junior Environmental Engineer - Water Services

We are seeking a motivated Junior Environmental Engineer to support the planning, design and delivery of water and wastewater services projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop technical expertise while contributing to projects that protect public health, improve water quality and promote sustainable resource management. You will work alongside experienced engineers, scientists, technicians and project managers across a varied portfolio of infrastructure and environmental initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications and environmental assessments; supporting investigations, surveys and site inspections; analysing water quality, flow, treatment and asset data; and contributing to the design and evaluation of water supply, drainage, wastewater and treatment solutions. You may also help with hydraulic modelling, regulatory submissions, risk assessments, procurement documentation and project cost estimates. The role will involve liaising with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders, while maintaining accurate project records and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with relevant legislation, technical standards, health and safety requirements and environmental objectives.

Applicants should hold, or be working towards, a degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, water engineering or a related discipline. Some relevant experience through placements, internships or graduate projects is desirable, along with an understanding of water and wastewater systems, environmental regulations and sustainability principles. Familiarity with engineering software, GIS, data analysis tools or technical drawing packages would be advantageous. You should have strong written and verbal communication skills, sound analytical ability and a willingness to learn.
