Project Manager - Land Development
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of land development projects from initial feasibility through to completion. This role will suit a commercially aware and organised professional with a strong understanding of planning, infrastructure, construction and development processes.
You will manage multiple projects, coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities to ensure schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with approved programmes, budgets and quality standards. The role involves balancing strategic planning with hands-on project management and maintaining clear communication throughout each stage of delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead land development projects from feasibility, due diligence and planning through to construction and handover.
- Prepare and manage project programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement strategies.
- Coordinate architects, engineers, planners, surveyors, contractors and other professional advisers.
- Monitor design development, infrastructure delivery, site progress, costs and programme performance.
- Manage planning conditions, technical approvals, Section 106 obligations and other regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve project risks, issues and dependencies, escalating matters where appropriate.
- Prepare clear reports, updates and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Support tendering, contractor appointments, contract administration and commercial negotiations.
- Promote high standards of health and safety, sustainability, quality and environmental compliance.
About you
You will have proven experience managing land development, residential, commercial or mixed-use schemes, ideally within a developer, consultancy, contractor or related professional environment. A relevant qualification in project management, construction, civil engineering, surveying, planning or a similar discipline is desirable.
Strong knowledge of the development lifecycle, planning processes, infrastructure requirements and construction delivery is essential. You should be confident managing budgets and consultants, interpreting technical information and making sound, evidence-based decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills are required, along with the ability to build effective relationships and manage competing priorities. In return, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to a varied portfolio of high-quality development projects with genuine scope for professional growth.
