Water Resources Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer III to support the planning, design, and delivery of complex water resources projects. This role will contribute technical expertise across stormwater management, flood risk reduction, drainage, watershed planning, water supply, and related civil engineering initiatives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to develop practical, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage studies, floodplain evaluations, water management plans, and engineering reports. You will develop and review technical specifications, plans, calculations, cost estimates, and contract documents; oversee field investigations and data collection; and provide technical guidance during construction and project implementation. The role will also involve managing project tasks and schedules, mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, supporting proposals and business development activities, and presenting recommendations to internal and external audiences. You will be expected to identify risks, resolve complex technical issues, and ensure that work complies with applicable standards, permits, and regulatory requirements.

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, water resources, or a closely related engineering discipline, along with substantial professional experience in water resources engineering. Professional registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer is required, together with demonstrated experience using hydrologic and hydraulic modelling tools, GIS applications, and engineering design software. Strong knowledge of stormwater regulations, floodplain management, drainage design, and water resources principles is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication, sound judgement, analytical ability, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities are also important. Experience leading projects, coordinating consultants, and working with public-sector or infrastructure stakeholders will be highly valued.
