Land Development Specialist

We are seeking a Land Development Specialist to support the planning, design, approval, and delivery of land development projects from initial feasibility through to construction. This role will suit a technically capable professional with experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing planning and development applications, and ensuring projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, and approval conditions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, authorities, landowners, and community representatives to help deliver practical, commercially sound outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include assessing development opportunities and site constraints; coordinating due diligence, surveys, investigations, and feasibility studies; preparing and reviewing development plans, technical reports, project briefs, and approval documentation; and managing submissions to planning and regulatory authorities. You will monitor project programs, budgets, risks, and deliverables, while tracking conditions of approval and coordinating responses to technical queries. The role will also involve reviewing engineering and infrastructure designs, supporting procurement and consultant engagement, attending project and site meetings, and assisting with the resolution of construction, planning, and stakeholder issues as they arise.

To be successful, you will have relevant qualifications in land development, urban planning, civil engineering, project management, or a related discipline, together with demonstrated experience in land development, infrastructure, property, or a similar environment. Knowledge of planning legislation, development assessment processes, civil works, servicing requirements, and environmental considerations will be highly regarded. You should be confident interpreting technical information, preparing clear written documentation, and managing competing priorities across multiple projects. Strong communication, negotiation, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with sound commercial judgement and a collaborative approach. Experience with project management systems, design review processes, and relevant mapping or technical software will be advantageous. A current driver’s licence and the ability to travel to project sites may be required.
