Project Manager, Stormwater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Stormwater to lead the planning and delivery of stormwater infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This role will oversee projects involving drainage networks, flood mitigation, water quality improvement, wetlands, detention and retention systems, culverts, channels, and related civil infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with relevant legislation, technical standards, environmental requirements, and community expectations.

Key responsibilities include developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, risk registers, procurement strategies, and delivery plans; coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, utilities, regulators, and other stakeholders; and managing design development, approvals, tendering, construction, commissioning, and project close-out. You will monitor progress, costs, quality, safety, and environmental performance, identify and resolve issues, manage variations and contracts, and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders. The role will also involve contributing to asset management, capital works planning, feasibility investigations, funding applications, and continuous improvement of project management practices.

To succeed in this role, you will have relevant qualifications in civil engineering, project management, environmental engineering, or a related discipline, together with demonstrated experience delivering stormwater, drainage, flood resilience, or broader civil infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of project governance, design principles, construction methodologies, contract administration, risk management, and work health and safety is required. You will be an effective communicator and negotiator who can build productive relationships, manage competing priorities, and provide practical solutions to complex challenges. Experience working with government, consultants, contractors, communities, and regulatory authorities will be highly regarded. A current driver’s licence and the ability to undertake site visits are also required.
