Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an organised and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful planning, coordination and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion. Working closely with project managers, internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders, you will help ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers and action trackers; coordinating meetings and preparing agendas, minutes and progress reports; monitoring project milestones and identifying potential delays or issues; and supporting the preparation of project documentation, procurement activities and status updates. You will assist with tracking costs, processing invoices, coordinating resources and ensuring that project information is accurate, up to date and appropriately recorded. You will also help facilitate communication between stakeholders, follow up on agreed actions and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery processes.

The successful candidate will have experience in project coordination, administration or a related operational environment, together with a strong understanding of project management principles. Excellent organisational, communication and time-management skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with a range of people. You should be confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and ideally have experience with project management or document control systems. A proactive, detail-focused approach and the ability to identify issues and seek practical solutions are important. An appropriate project management qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.
