Land Development Project Manager II
We are seeking a Land Development Project Manager II to lead the planning, design, approval, and delivery of complex land development projects from concept through construction. This role will manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating internal teams, consultants, contractors, authorities, and stakeholders to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to guide projects through changing priorities and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining project scopes, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and procurement plans; coordinating feasibility studies, site investigations, engineering designs, environmental assessments, utilities, transportation, stormwater, grading, and infrastructure works; and managing submissions for planning, development, engineering, and construction approvals. You will review consultant and contractor deliverables, monitor progress and quality, resolve design and construction issues, administer contracts, track variations and forecasts, and provide clear reporting to senior stakeholders. The role will also involve leading project meetings, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting land acquisition and stakeholder engagement activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, permits, technical standards, and health and safety requirements.
Applicants should have a degree or diploma in civil engineering, land development, construction management, urban planning, or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering land development or civil infrastructure projects. Professional registration or project management certification is desirable. You will need demonstrated experience managing consultants, contractors, budgets, schedules, approvals, and multidisciplinary teams, as well as the ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering reports, planning instruments, and development conditions. Strong communication, negotiation, organisation, problem-solving, and risk-management skills are essential. Experience with project management, scheduling, cost-control, document-management, and design software will be advantageous. This position suits a proactive and collaborative professional who can work independently, make informed decisions, and maintain momentum across complex projects while delivering high-quality outcomes.
