We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of healthcare construction and refurbishment projects from inception through to completion. This role will oversee projects across a range of clinical and operational environments, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with healthcare stakeholders, consultants, contractors and internal teams to coordinate complex works in live and sensitive environments.
Key responsibilities will include developing project plans, programmes, budgets and risk registers; managing procurement and contractor appointments; monitoring progress, costs, quality and compliance; and providing clear, regular reporting to senior stakeholders. You will coordinate design development, approvals, surveys, statutory requirements and construction activities, while ensuring minimal disruption to patients, staff and day-to-day healthcare operations. The role will also involve managing change control, resolving issues, leading project meetings, maintaining accurate documentation and overseeing handover, commissioning and close-out activities.
Applicants should have significant experience managing construction projects, ideally within healthcare, hospitals, clinical facilities or another highly regulated environment. A relevant qualification in construction, project management, engineering or a related discipline is preferred, together with strong knowledge of construction contracts, health and safety legislation, building regulations and quality assurance processes. You will be an organised and commercially aware professional with excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities, influence delivery partners and make sound decisions in challenging circumstances is essential. Experience working in occupied buildings, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing projects from concept to completion would be highly advantageous.
