You will take responsibility for projects from initial planning and pre-construction through to completion and handover. Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and healthcare stakeholders, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with all relevant legislation, standards and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of healthcare construction, refurbishment and capital improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement strategies.
- Coordinate design teams, specialist consultants, contractors and supply chain partners.
- Monitor progress, costs, quality and performance, providing accurate reports to senior stakeholders.
- Lead project meetings and ensure clear communication across all parties.
- Identify and manage risks, changes, disputes and issues through to resolution.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, building regulations, infection prevention and control, and healthcare-specific requirements.
- Oversee commissioning, practical completion, defects management and final handover.
About you
You will have a proven background in construction project management, ideally gained within healthcare, clinical, life sciences or another highly regulated environment. You should be confident managing multiple stakeholders and projects, with strong commercial, contractual and organisational skills.
A relevant qualification in construction, project management, engineering or a related discipline is desirable, together with experience of working under recognised contract forms such as JCT or NEC. Professional accreditation, including APM, RICS, CIOB or equivalent, would be advantageous.
You will be a proactive and collaborative leader who can communicate effectively at all levels, make well-informed decisions and remain focused in demanding environments. The role may involve travel to project sites and requires a practical commitment to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.
