You will contribute to projects from early planning and design through to construction and completion. Working with internal teams, contractors, consultants and clients, you will help ensure that project requirements are clearly understood, risks are managed and progress is accurately reported.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with planning, coordinating and monitoring water services projects, including scope, programme, budget and resources.
- Maintain project schedules, action trackers, risk registers and other project documentation.
- Support the preparation of reports, forecasts, progress updates and information for project meetings.
- Coordinate communication between engineering, commercial, construction and operational teams.
- Monitor contractor and consultant performance, raising issues and supporting the resolution of technical or delivery challenges.
- Help manage changes, approvals, procurement activities and project controls in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental responsibility and quality throughout project delivery.
- Assist with project close-out, handover documentation and the capture of lessons learned.
About you
You will have experience supporting or managing projects, ideally within the water, utilities, construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors. A sound understanding of project management principles, commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical information will be beneficial. You should be comfortable using project management and Microsoft Office software, including spreadsheets and reporting tools.
Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with the confidence to build effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders. You will be proactive, dependable and able to prioritise competing demands while maintaining attention to detail. A relevant project management, engineering or technical qualification is desirable, as is an understanding of industry health and safety requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your project management career while contributing to essential water services and infrastructure that benefit communities and the environment.
