You will be involved in projects from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, construction support and completion.
Key responsibilities
- Develop hydraulic and hydrological assessments, calculations, models and technical reports.
- Prepare concept, outline and detailed designs for water and flood risk projects.
- Coordinate surveys, site investigations, data collection and technical inputs from internal and external specialists.
- Produce drawings, specifications, schedules, risk assessments and documentation in line with project requirements.
- Support project planning, cost management, programming and resource allocation.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, regulators and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain progress.

- Promote high standards of health and safety, quality, sustainability and environmental responsibility.
About you
You will have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, water engineering, environmental engineering or a related discipline. Experience in water resources, flood risk, drainage or hydraulic engineering is essential, together with a practical understanding of relevant UK standards, guidance and regulatory requirements.
Applicants should be confident using engineering software and data analysis tools, with experience of hydraulic modelling packages such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM desirable. You will be organised, commercially aware and able to manage competing priorities while delivering accurate work to agreed deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and contribute positively within a collaborative team. Professional membership or progress towards chartership with a relevant institution would be advantageous.
