An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex land development projects from initial feasibility through to completion. This role will suit a commercially minded professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven record of delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will take responsibility for managing multiple projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring that programmes, budgets and quality standards are consistently achieved. Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, local authorities and other key stakeholders, you will help shape successful development solutions and guide projects through the planning, design and construction phases.
Key responsibilities
- Lead land development projects from inception, feasibility and planning through to construction and handover.
- Prepare and manage project programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement strategies.
- Coordinate civil engineering, infrastructure, environmental, planning and technical design activities.
- Manage consultant and contractor performance, ensuring deliverables meet agreed timescales and quality requirements.
- Build effective relationships with clients, statutory authorities, landowners and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and implement timely mitigation strategies.
- Review technical proposals, reports and design information to support sound commercial and development decisions.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, approvals, health and safety requirements and industry standards.
About you
You will have substantial experience managing land development, infrastructure or regeneration projects, ideally within a consultancy, developer, contractor or local authority environment. A relevant qualification in project management, civil engineering, construction, surveying or a related discipline is desirable, alongside practical knowledge of planning, highways, drainage and development processes.
Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences are essential. You will be organised, proactive and confident working independently while providing effective leadership across project teams. Experience of managing several concurrent projects and delivering results within challenging deadlines will be highly valued.
In return, you will have the opportunity to work on varied and influential development projects, with professional growth, responsibility and a supportive working environment.
