Civil Project Engineer - Land Development
Civil Project Engineer – Land Development
An exciting opportunity is available for a Civil Project Engineer to contribute to a varied portfolio of land development projects. This role would suit an experienced civil engineer who enjoys delivering practical, sustainable and commercially viable infrastructure solutions from concept through to construction.
You will work alongside clients, planners, architects, contractors and technical specialists to develop designs for residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes. The position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, support junior colleagues and build strong relationships with stakeholders throughout the development process.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review civil engineering designs for roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and associated infrastructure.
- Produce technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and schedules in accordance with relevant standards and approvals requirements.
- Manage project tasks, programmes, budgets and deliverables, ensuring work is completed to a high professional standard.
- Coordinate with internal and external design teams, statutory authorities, contractors and clients.
- Attend site visits, inspections and meetings, providing technical guidance and resolving design or construction issues.
- Support planning, technical approval and construction stages, including responses to technical queries and design changes.
- Contribute to fee proposals, project reviews, risk assessments and the continuous improvement of design processes.
About you
You will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering and have relevant experience within land development, infrastructure or consultancy. A working knowledge of UK highways, drainage and construction standards is essential, along with experience using design and modelling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or equivalent platforms.
Professional registration, or a clear commitment towards achieving it, would be advantageous. You should be organised, commercially aware and confident communicating with people at all levels. The ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and contribute positively within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
What’s on offer
You will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, together with opportunities for professional development, technical training and progression. Flexible working arrangements may be available, alongside the chance to work on high-quality projects with a meaningful impact on local communities.
