Traveling Construction Superintendent
Travelling Construction Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Travelling Construction Superintendent to oversee construction activities across multiple project locations. This is a hands-on leadership role for a confident construction professional who can manage site operations, maintain high standards and deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.
You will be responsible for coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers while acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day construction matters. The role involves regular travel and periods away from home, so flexibility, resilience and excellent organisational skills are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate construction activities from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Manage site supervisors, subcontractors, trades and other project personnel.
- Review drawings, specifications, programmes and method statements to ensure work is completed correctly.
- Monitor progress, productivity, workmanship, materials and plant requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures and environmental standards.
- Identify risks, resolve technical and operational issues, and escalate matters where appropriate.
- Attend progress meetings and provide clear updates on programme, quality, costs and resources.
- Work closely with project managers, consultants, clients and local stakeholders.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning and practical completion activities.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and documentation.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising construction projects, ideally in a travelling or multi-site capacity. A strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, quality control and site safety is required, together with the ability to read technical drawings and interpret project documentation.
Applicants should hold a recognised construction qualification or equivalent practical experience, alongside relevant site safety training and appropriate industry certification. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively are essential.
You will be a proactive and practical leader with excellent communication skills, sound commercial awareness and the confidence to make decisions under pressure. In return, you will receive a competitive package, varied project experience and the opportunity to lead high-quality construction delivery across different locations.
