This is a site-based leadership position, responsible for coordinating construction activities, maintaining high standards of workmanship and ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme and within budget.
The successful candidate will manage daily site operations and work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors and utility providers. You will provide clear direction to site teams, monitor progress and resolve issues promptly, while ensuring all works comply with approved plans, specifications and applicable regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise site development, grading, drainage, roads, paving and underground utility installation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and labour to maintain efficient workflow.
- Review drawings, specifications and construction schedules, identifying potential issues before they affect delivery.
- Monitor quality, site safety and environmental compliance throughout each phase of construction.
- Maintain accurate daily records, progress reports, inspection documentation and material tracking.
- Liaise with local authorities, utility providers and inspectors to arrange approvals, testing and connections.
- Support cost control, programme management and the resolution of design or field changes.
- Lead site meetings and promote a professional, collaborative and accountable working environment.
About you
You will have substantial experience supervising site development or civil construction projects, with a strong understanding of earthworks, stormwater systems, sanitary sewer, water distribution and associated infrastructure. The ability to interpret construction documents, use project management systems and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is essential.
A current Georgia Utility Manager Licence is required. Candidates should also demonstrate sound knowledge of health and safety requirements, proven subcontractor management skills and the confidence to make practical decisions in a fast-moving site environment. A relevant construction qualification and experience with scheduling or cost-management software would be advantageous.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of major development projects and make a visible contribution to their successful completion.
