We are seeking a Utility Modeling Engineer to support the planning, design, and delivery of land development and infrastructure projects. This role will focus on developing accurate utility models and construction-ready plans for water, wastewater, stormwater, and related civil systems. You will work closely with project managers, civil engineers, surveyors, planners, and external stakeholders to coordinate utility layouts, assess existing conditions, and deliver practical, compliant solutions for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining utility models, profiles, alignments, plan-and-profile drawings, and design documentation; reviewing survey data, utility records, geotechnical information, and design criteria; performing hydraulic calculations and utility capacity assessments; and supporting the design of water distribution, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and other underground infrastructure. You will identify clashes and constructability issues, coordinate utility corridors, respond to technical comments, and assist with permitting, agency reviews, cost estimates, and construction support. The role may also involve site visits, field verification, preparation of technical reports, and mentoring less experienced team members.

The successful candidate will have a degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience in civil engineering, water resources, land development, or a related discipline. Experience with utility modeling and civil design software—such as Civil 3D, InfoWater, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, or comparable platforms—is highly desirable. You should understand relevant utility standards, drainage principles, grading, easements, and permitting requirements, with the ability to interpret technical data and produce clear, accurate deliverables. Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills are essential, along with a commitment to quality, safety, and sustainable infrastructure design. Professional registration or progress toward certification will be considered an advantage.
