You will identify and assess opportunities across flexible generation, including gas-fired generation, battery storage, demand-side response and other complementary technologies. Working across technical, commercial, regulatory and investment teams, you will help shape projects from initial concept through to financial close, construction and operation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of flexible generation and energy infrastructure opportunities.
- Lead market analysis, opportunity screening and commercial due diligence.
- Build relationships with landowners, developers, investors, technology providers, utilities and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare business cases, investment papers, financial models and commercial proposals.
- Support negotiations relating to development agreements, power purchase arrangements, grid connections and offtake structures.
- Coordinate internal and external advisers throughout project development and transaction processes.
- Monitor regulatory, market and policy developments, identifying their impact on project value and delivery.
- Present recommendations and project updates to senior leadership and investment committees.
About you
You will have demonstrable experience in business development, origination or commercial development within the energy, utilities, infrastructure or related sectors. A solid understanding of UK electricity markets, flexible generation technologies and project development processes is highly desirable.
You should be commercially astute, analytical and confident managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential, together with the ability to turn market insight into practical investment opportunities.
What you will bring
A degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, engineering, economics or a related discipline is preferred. Experience of financial modelling, contract negotiation and investment appraisal would be advantageous. You will be self-motivated, collaborative and comfortable operating in a changing market where priorities can develop quickly.
