- Lead the preparation, review and approval of civil engineering designs, including roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and external works.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, local authorities, utility providers and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor technical quality, programme performance, costs and construction progress.
- Support planning applications, technical approvals, permits and agreements with statutory bodies.
- Identify project risks and develop practical mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review tenders, contractor proposals, technical reports and construction documentation.
- Provide clear progress updates and professional advice to senior stakeholders.
About you
You will have proven experience managing civil engineering or land development projects, ideally within a consultancy, developer, contractor or related infrastructure environment. A degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction or a related discipline is desirable, together with professional membership of an appropriate engineering institution or demonstrable progress towards chartership.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of UK infrastructure design, drainage, highways and development processes, alongside excellent commercial, organisational and communication skills. Experience using relevant design, project management or document control systems would be advantageous. You will be proactive, analytical and confident making decisions, with the ability to build effective relationships and deliver results in a changing environment.
A competitive salary and benefits package is available, together with opportunities for professional development and progression.
