You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and statutory authorities to ensure developments are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget. The role will involve managing several projects or phases simultaneously, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and providing clear, timely progress updates to senior management.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the design and delivery of roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks, infrastructure and associated external works.
- Prepare and monitor project programmes, budgets, forecasts, risk registers and procurement plans.
- Lead consultant and contractor appointments, tender processes, contract negotiations and performance reviews.
- Coordinate planning conditions, technical approvals, Section 38 and Section 104 agreements, and other statutory requirements.
- Review designs, specifications, drawings and technical reports to identify risks, opportunities and value-engineering solutions.
- Monitor construction progress, quality, health and safety, environmental compliance and commercial performance.
- Organise and chair project meetings, recording actions and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Support the successful handover of completed infrastructure to adopting authorities, management companies or relevant stakeholders.
About you
You will have proven experience managing civil engineering or infrastructure projects within residential development, housebuilding, property development or a related environment. A strong understanding of construction methods, development processes, technical approvals and relevant UK standards is essential.
You should be confident working with engineers, planners, contractors, local authorities and internal teams, with excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills. Commercial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are also important. A degree or HNC/HND in civil engineering, construction or a related discipline is desirable, alongside a relevant professional qualification or project management accreditation.
A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to development sites are required.
