Superintendent
Superintendent
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of operational activities across a busy site environment. This role will suit a confident leader with strong organisational skills, sound technical knowledge and the ability to coordinate teams, contractors and resources effectively.
You will be responsible for supervising day-to-day works, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and ensuring activities are delivered in accordance with approved plans, programmes and relevant regulations. You will act as a key point of contact on site, providing clear direction, resolving issues promptly and supporting a positive, collaborative working culture.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily site operations and activities.
- Lead, motivate and manage site teams, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Monitor progress against programmes, identify potential delays and implement corrective action.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, briefings and toolbox talks, maintaining accurate site records.
- Coordinate materials, plant, equipment and labour to support uninterrupted delivery.
- Work closely with project, engineering, commercial and health and safety teams.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, escalating risks where appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, permits, risk assessments, method statements and company procedures.
About you
You will have proven experience in a Superintendent, Site Manager or equivalent supervisory position, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing or another technically focused environment. A relevant trade, technical or professional qualification would be advantageous, alongside formal health and safety training.
Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to prioritise competing demands and make sound decisions under pressure. You should be comfortable reading technical documentation, using digital reporting systems and working flexibly to meet operational requirements. A full driving licence may be required, depending on site location.
What is offered
This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for important operations while working alongside experienced professionals. You will receive a competitive salary, appropriate benefits and opportunities for ongoing development and career progression.
