Estimator - Division 8 & 10
Estimator – Division 8 & 10
An experienced Estimator is required to prepare accurate, competitive tenders for Division 8 and Division 10 packages across commercial, residential, education, healthcare and public-sector projects. This role will suit someone with strong technical understanding, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key responsibilities
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
- Prepare detailed estimates, bills of quantities and quotations for doors, frames, hardware, glazing, toilet partitions, accessories, lockers, signage and other specialist products.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring compliance with project requirements and programme constraints.
- Complete material take-offs and pricing exercises using relevant estimating software, spreadsheets and digital drawing tools.
- Clarify technical information with clients, consultants, suppliers and project teams where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of assumptions, exclusions, amendments and tender correspondence.
- Support the preparation of tender submissions, value-engineering proposals and commercial handover information.
- Review awarded projects with the delivery team to ensure estimates are clearly communicated and commercially robust.
About you
You will have previous estimating experience within architectural products, interiors, fit-out or a related construction discipline. A sound knowledge of Division 8 and 10 products, installation methods, materials and industry standards is essential. Experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications, together with a strong understanding of procurement and subcontractor pricing, will be highly valued.
You should be commercially aware, methodical and confident working independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating or take-off software. The ability to prioritise competing tenders, challenge inconsistencies and deliver accurate work to strict deadlines is essential.
A relevant construction, quantity surveying or estimating qualification would be advantageous, although practical experience and proven technical capability will also be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional project team and contribute to the successful delivery of varied, high-quality construction schemes.
