Fire Sprinkler Superintendent
Fire Sprinkler Superintendent
An experienced Fire Sprinkler Superintendent is required to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of fire protection installations across commercial, industrial and residential projects. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising installation teams and ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved designs, current regulations and project schedules.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, clients and other site personnel to resolve technical issues, monitor progress and maintain strong standards of workmanship. The successful candidate will be confident managing multiple priorities and leading teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise the installation, testing and commissioning of fire sprinkler systems.
- Coordinate labour, materials, plant and access requirements to support project delivery.
- Interpret drawings, specifications and hydraulic calculations, identifying discrepancies where necessary.
- Monitor work quality and ensure installations comply with relevant British Standards, industry guidance and health and safety requirements.
- Complete site inspections, progress updates, installation records and commissioning documentation.
- Liaise with clients, building contractors and other trades to coordinate activities and minimise disruption.
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to sprinkler fitters, apprentices and subcontractors.
- Identify potential delays, risks and defects, taking prompt corrective action where required.
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure site procedures, risk assessments and method statements are followed.
About you
You will have substantial experience in fire sprinkler installation, with a proven track record of supervising teams on construction or refurbishment projects. A strong understanding of sprinkler systems, pipework, testing procedures and relevant compliance requirements is essential. Experience working from technical drawings and coordinating with multiple trades will be highly valued.
You should be organised, practical and able to communicate clearly with people at all levels. A recognised trade qualification, relevant site safety training and a valid driving licence would be advantageous. The role may involve travel between sites, working at height and occasional out-of-hours activity to meet project requirements.
What is offered
A competitive salary, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to contribute to important fire safety projects are available. Candidates seeking a long-term role with responsibility, variety and scope to lead from the front are encouraged to apply.
