Superintendent – Structures, Southeast

An experienced Superintendent is required to oversee structural construction activities across major projects in the Southeast. This is a site-based leadership role, responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to the required quality standards and in line with agreed programmes.

You will manage day-to-day structural operations, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades. The role will involve monitoring progress, resolving construction issues, maintaining clear communication with project management and ensuring that all activities comply with approved drawings, specifications and relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise structural works, including concrete, steelwork, reinforced concrete and associated building elements.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, plant, materials and labour to maintain productivity and programme performance.
  • Review drawings, method statements, inspection plans and construction sequences before work begins.
  • Monitor workmanship and quality, identifying defects and ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
  • Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across the site.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide accurate updates on productivity, risks, resources and potential delays.
  • Maintain site records, daily reports and relevant quality and safety documentation.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers and other disciplines to resolve technical and logistical challenges.

About you

You will have substantial experience supervising structural construction projects, ideally within commercial, civil engineering, infrastructure or industrial environments. A sound understanding of construction methods, sequencing, temporary works and site logistics is essential, together with the confidence to lead teams and make informed decisions in a demanding environment.

Applicants should demonstrate strong communication, planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards. Relevant construction qualifications and recognised site safety training are desirable, and a valid driving licence may be required due to travel between project locations.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects across the Southeast while working within a professional, collaborative and safety-focused environment.
