Superintendent
An experienced Superintendent is sought to lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of operational activities across a busy site. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for coordinating teams, managing daily priorities and ensuring work is completed in line with agreed programmes, budgets and performance standards.
You will provide clear direction to supervisors, trades and contractors, while maintaining strong communication with project managers, clients and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be confident making decisions in a fast-paced environment and will promote a positive culture built around safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily site operations and workforce activities.
- Monitor progress against schedules, identifying risks, delays and required corrective action.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant legislation, specifications, quality requirements and company procedures.
- Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and coordination meetings.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, plant and materials to support efficient delivery.
- Maintain accurate records, including site reports, progress updates, inspections and incident documentation.
- Investigate issues promptly and work collaboratively to implement practical solutions.
- Promote excellent health, safety and environmental standards across the site.
- Support commercial performance by monitoring labour, resources and potential variations.
About you
You will have proven experience in a Superintendent, Site Manager or senior supervisory position, ideally within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing or a related operational environment. A recognised technical, trade or management qualification would be advantageous, together with relevant health and safety training.
You should be an organised and approachable leader with strong planning, communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to interpret drawings, programmes, specifications and technical documentation is essential. You must be comfortable working independently, managing competing demands and maintaining high standards in challenging conditions.
This role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact, lead talented teams and contribute to the successful delivery of important projects. A competitive package and professional development opportunities are available for the right candidate.
